Hong Kong Food Trip - Mak's Noodle, Yoshinoya, Chao Zhou, Kai Kee Noodles (Part 3 of 3 - Cheap Eats)

Travelling to Hong Kong on a budget? Don't worry as Hong Kong has lots of yummy restaurants where you can dine without breaking the bank.
HONG KONG CHEAP EATS - (1) Mak's Noodle, (2) Yoshinoya, (3) Chao Zhou Restaurant, (4) Kai Kee Noodles
Prepare to spend: HKD 35 to HKD 60 (USD 4.50 to USD 8.00) per person

(1) Mak's Noodle
Where: Shop 1, G/F, The Peak Galleria, 118 Peak Road, The Peak, Hong Kong
Despite of its minute serving size, I still love the noodles of Mak's noodle house. The noodles are springy and soup broth is very flavorful. No wonder this restaurant chain is recommended by Anthony Bourdain. When you drop by, make sure to order their beef noodle in soup and shrimp dumplings. I'm sure you will love it and will leave you craving for more!

Hong Kong Food Trip - Aberdeen Restaurant, Spring Deer, Chuk Yuen (Part 2 of 3 - Mid Range Dining)

HONG KONG MID-RANGE DINING - (1) ABERDEEN FISHBALL AND SEAFOOD RESTAURANT, (2) SPRING DEER, (3) CHUK YUEN
Prepare to spend: HKD 120 - 150 per person (USD 16 - 20 per person)

(1) Aberdeen Fishball and Seafood Restaurant
Where: Humphreys Avenue, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong
While passing by the area of Tsim Sha Tsui, we got attracted to the retro ambiance of Aberdeen Restaurant and had our first dinner there. Serving size is quite generous. We ordered their roast Peking duck, kailan vegetables and fried rice. The Pecking Duck is tender, tasty and without any odor. Fried rice is quite too salty for our liking. Overall, food taste is so-so. I think I can get better value for my money somewhere. But if you drop by here, I would recommend you to order their Peking Duck.

Hong Kong Food Trip - Shang Palace Kowloon Shangrila (Part 1 of 3 - Food Splurge)

I'm trying to sleep early today but can't due to overdose of green tea. So let me finish my foodie review of my recent Hong Kong trip, I'm hoping that I will doze off to sleep after and not crave for some midnight snack. Fingers crossed. Haha!  My last trip to Hong Kong has proven that this city is indeed a foodie paradise! From the hawkers to Michelin star restaurants, everything is simply yummy! I dare to say that I'm willing to go back to Hong Kong for the food alone.  Most of the restaurants featured here are within Tsim Sha Tsui area except for Mak's Noodle Restaurant.

Kowloon Shangrila Hong Kong (Day 1)

As you may notice in my previous blog entries, I am a huge fan of Shangrila hotels and resorts! My recent stay in Shangrila Mactan sealed my loyalty to the chain as they always exceed my expectations. I originally booked my hotel somewhere in Wanchai but switched to Kowloon Shangrila at the last minute. With a perfect location in Tsim Sha Tsui East and ultra spacious rooms compared to Hong Kong standards, I can say that Kowloon Shangrila is definitely the best value 5 star hotel in the city.

Kowloon Shangrila is highly recommended by asitravelbug. :)

Hong Kong Airport Arrival and Airport Bus to City (Day 1)

Despite of its massive size, Hong Kong Airport is smartly laid out allowing even newbie travellers to navigate without any problem. Rest rooms are clean and people manning the airport are quite efficient.  Our plane landed in Hong Kong Airport at 10:00 am and we're able to board the public bus to the city in less than an hours time. It's funny that I landed Hong Kong without an itinerary, thank God there are plenty of free Hong Kong tourist maps in the airport. If you are visiting Hong Kong, make sure you get one!
