After taking our last breakfast in Corus Hotel, we checked out and boarded the Aeroline bus just outside the hotel at 10:30am (previously booked scheduled tickets). For some reason, the journey from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore is longer by 30 minutes. After going thru the customs of Malaysia and Singapore, we finally arrived at Harbor Front Center in Singapore at 4pm.
We checked in at around 5pm. Bayview Hotel is not as fancy as Corus Hotel in KL but its location is central and very accessible. The hotel is around 5 minutes walk to Dhoby Gaut MTR Station, 10 minutess walk to Orchard Road, 20 minutess walk to Suntec City Mall, 30 minutes walk to Esplanade and Merlion Park, 40 minutes walk to CBD and Chinatown. Aside from its accessibility, one good thing about this hotel is its free WIFI access in your room. Hotel breakfast is not that good but is not really a big problem because you can eat in the nearby Kopitiam for just a few bucks.
Visitors Center at Orchard Road
At 5:30pm, we started walking towards Visitors Center in Orchard Road. We arrived there in about 10 minutes walk. There, we got brochures and decided to take the the 2 day Singapore Pass. This 2 day Singapore Pass entitles you to 8 tours - Singapore DUCKtours, DHL Baloon Ride, Singapore River Cruise, City Hippotour, Heritage Hippotour, Moonlight Advernture, Red Lantern Hippotour, and Sentosa Hippotour for just SGD 63.00 (April 2007 price). I would really recommend the Singapore Pass since you will be able to circle most of Singapore's tourist spots in just 2 days and its cheap.
Little India and Mustafa Center
From Orchard Road, we took a cab to Mustafa Center so we can buy food essentials needed for our next 4 days stay in Singapore. We bought mineral water, juices, and chips. I believe Mustafa Center has the cheapest prices for grocery items in Singapore.
1. When choosing a hotel, always remember that location is the key. It will help you save a lot of time and money in travelling. Location-wise, some hotels to consider around the area of Bayview Hotel are Rendezvous Hotel, Allson Hotel, Hotel 81 -Bencoolen (mid-range), Summerview Hotel and YWCA Fort Canning Lodge (budget range).

reading from pinoyexchange forum nabasa ko posting mo pati na tong blogs mo sa other site..actually, kagagaling ko lang din ng malaysia at singapore pero d ko lahat napuntahan ang mga lugar na nakita mo..naiinggit tuloy ako..how much did you spend per person?
ReplyDeleteHi SanSu! Thanks for posting! We spent around P37,500 for the 8-day tour including RT PAL airfare, 3star hotel, transpo, food and pasalubong. It could have been cheaper because we went there during Holy Week and at the time when there was a Formula1 Grand Prix in Kuala Lumpur. Hotel rates are really much higher that time. =)
ReplyDeletehi. were planning to go there on 25th to 31st of may.so thankful na open ko blog mo ,make sure we will follow your etirenary. tnx so much and God bless

Hi Anonymous! Thanks for visiting my blog. You might need to do a little tweak in your schedule for the 2 Day Singapore Pass as there may be changes in its tour inclusions.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy trip!
hello is the 37,500 total for both of you? or is it per person? thanks ulit
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous! We spent P37,500 per person including all mentioned in my first comment. Take note that this is a 8D/7N trip so its really much expensive than a 3D/2N trip or a 5D/4N trip that you see in newspaper ads. The longer you stay, the more you have to spend.
ReplyDeleteIf you have more questions, feel free to comment here. Thanks!
