Kuala Lumpur: Petronas, Merdeka Square, Bukit Bintang

The Petronas Twin Towers

After eating breakfast, we made a 5-minute walk towards the Petronas Twin Towers. The guards there instructed us to go to the basement, across Maybank to line up for Skybridge tickets. About a hundred people were already in line when we arrived in the Petronas Twin Towers Ticket Booth even if it's only 8:45am in the morning. Our patience paid off when we received our free 10:45am scheduled Skybridge tickets at around 9:30am.
To pass time while we are waiting for our turn to go up to Skybridge, we went to the mini museum of Petronas Twin Towers just adjacent to the Ticket Booth. There, you can watch videos on how the towers were constructed and you can step into the interactive height calculator which computes how many times taller the Petronas Twin Towers vs. your height.

At 10:45am, before we were allowed to go up to Skybridge, the Visitors Center staff showed us a video about Petronas (Gas Company) and how the Petronas Twin Towers were built. Then, we were taken to a high speed elevator which took us to the 41st floor where the Skybridge is located. The view from the Skybridge gives you a bird's eye view of Kuala Lumpur. We hurriedly took pictures of us in the Skybridge becuase we were only given 10 minutes to roam around.

Merdeka Square

After taking our lunch at Suria KLCC, we took a cab to Merdeka Square. It's 1pm and it's so hot that we're only the people around at that time. Here we saw a very big and tall flag pole of Malaysia, the flag pole is perhaps one of the tallest in the world.

Bukit Bintang

We took a cab to Bukit Bintang at around 2:30pm. We went to Lot 10, Sungei Wang Plaza, and other adjoining malls to window shop.

Some Helpful Tips:

1. Access to Petronas Twin Towers Skybridge is only from Tuesdays to Sundays from 9am to 5pm. They are closed on Mondays.

2. Be in the Visitors Center of Petronas early so you'll be sure that you will be able to get tickets. If I'm not mistaken, the tickets given per day are limited.

3. Make sure to bring your tripod along with you. It is very difficult to take the whole Petronas Twin Towers as a backdrop of your photos if you don't have a tripod.
